The redevelopment of the existing Maroubra Mall to Pacific Square is the major force behind the rejuvenation of the Maroubra Junction area.

The Pacific Square site had major stormwater and sewer infrastructure crossing it which required diversion. These works were undertaken by diverting the services around the site and boring them under Anzac Parade to an alternative exit point. During these works, Anzac Parade remained open and maintained access to the public.

Stage 1 at Pacific Square consisted of the design and construction of a diversion of major services running through the site, the construction of two basement level carparks for 410 cars, a 12,000 square metre shopping centre with Coles taking 3500 square metres, a level of commercial suites, 299 luxury residential apartments contained in three separate towers coming off a fully landscaped podium with a 25 metre indoor heated pool.
